Good at:
- playground - climbing ladders, crossing chain link bridges
- peddling trikes
- jumping, running. A small amount of dangling (needs improvement). bouncing on tramp
- says sentences, although not always clear
- can count out loud to ten, and recognise and “read” the digits 0-9.
- can operate a mouse and keyboard and do simple things on the computer like open/close windows and click on links
- enjoys baking. likes to break the eggs and do stirring
- can pour his own drinks
- can remove some of his own clothing if it is reasonably loose
- can hold pen quite well and can trace over shapes.
- understands the finished noise on the washing machine, can open the door, put washing in basket and drag basket to line. Can peg clothes on the line
- recognises and names some colours such as orange
- tells me to stop at orange lights
- uses a fork or spoon, but doesn’t really know how to cut with a knife yet.
- can use scissors to cut a piece of paper
- beginning to get concepts of time and past and future. Talks about past events.
- Good memory for places we have visited. Will remember a place even if only been once before (eg knows who lives there and where the toilet is)
- can get the lid off tupperware containers by himself (that’s where all the baking marshmallows went…)
- drinks from a straw or regular cup.
- will push the correct buttons in a lift (eg G, M, 1, 2)
- can take photos using a camera.
